Commerce hub
Everything for your store lives under one Commerce area. Open it from the left-hand navigation and you land on the hub: a single page that tells you what is set up, what still needs attention, and where to go next.
- The guided setup checklist, with completed steps shown in green.
- The store health rollup: background work, order freshness, and catalog sources.
- The catalog coverage card.
Is this project an online store?
The Commerce menu, its setup steps, and its prompts appear when your plan includes commerce and the project has been marked as an online store. So a blog or a marketing site carries no store menu and is never nudged through setup it does not need.
You are asked when you create a project. If that question is left unanswered, A vs B asks again the first time someone opens Commerce for the project, and it can also show up as the last step of first-time setup when the plan you signed up on includes commerce.
- Yes puts the Commerce menu in the sidebar and switches on the guided setup checklist below, plus a short "finish setting up commerce" link on the project dashboard so you can pick up where you left off.
- No keeps the menu out of the sidebar. Nothing is locked and nothing is deleted: your plan still includes everything it included before, and turning the setting back on restores the menu straight away.
The answer is remembered per project, so a storefront and a marketing site can differ. A project that already has a store connected or a catalog loaded is treated as an online store from the start and is never asked.
Marking a project as an online store decides whether that one project shows commerce menus, setup steps, and guidance. It never grants or removes anything you paid for: what your account includes comes from your plan. Change the answer whenever you like from the Online store setting on the project's General settings tab.
- The Online store toggle on the General settings tab.
The guided setup checklist
The hub walks you through five steps, in order. Each one turns green on its own the moment it is genuinely done: there is no button to "mark complete", so the checklist can never disagree with reality.
- Connect a store: link your store so A vs B keeps an up-to-date copy of your products.
- Verify your products: confirm your products arrived and were read the way you expect. This step completes only once the first import has fully finished, not while it is still loading.
- Create a recommendation: turn on a recommendation so shoppers see relevant products.
- Launch a test: run an experiment to measure what actually moves your numbers.
- Turn on revenue tracking: track order revenue so tests can be judged on money, not just clicks.
A step is marked done only when its real signal is present. If a check can't be read for a moment (for example a brief hiccup reading your data), the step stays "to do" rather than showing a false green tick: a missing signal never completes a step.
Each step has a button that takes you straight to the right place: the Sources page to connect, the Product catalog to verify, and so on.
Store health
Below the checklist, the hub shows a live store health rollup:
- Background work: whether any imports, syncs, or nightly jobs have failed or stalled in the last 24 hours.
- Order freshness: when your most recent order arrived, and how many orders aren't yet linked to a visitor. If the analytics store can't be read, you see a clear "unavailable" note rather than a misleading "0 orders".
- Catalog sources: each connected source, its status, and when it last synced.
This is the same information the health banner at the top of the Commerce area draws on, so the whole area agrees on one picture of health.
Catalog coverage
The hub also shows catalog coverage: the share of recommended products matched to live catalog data, and how recently your sources sent it. A vs B never scrapes your storefront; coverage reflects only what your connected sources send.
Where everything lives
The Commerce area has six tabs at the top: Home, Catalog, Recommendations, Orders, Datasets (tagged "Advanced"), and Sources. Data & privacy is not a tab. It is a link on the hub itself, and it takes you to your project's Settings, since privacy controls live there rather than in Commerce.
